I am a multimedia artist and trained architect. I have a unique portfolio of video installations and short films that explores new ways of perceiving architecture and the built environment. With my knowledge and passion for both fields, I have created a language for experimental documentaries that focuses on the experiential qualities of space. These include the Riving Place Arts Centre and Stephen Lawrence Centre (both designed by David Adjaye), the Kunsthaus Graz (designed by Peter Cook and Colin Fournier), and several international architecture exhibitions.
I am trained as an architect at Tunghai University in Taiwan and at the Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL in London, after which I have practiced in architecture for more than ten years. I worked in several internationally known offices before gaining an MA Fine Art at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in 2003. It was here that I began to explore video and film as my main medium of expression. My work has been exhibited internationally in galleries and film festivals. My video installations in the ‘Inside/ Out’ exhibition during the Galway Art Festival 2004 were highly praised in the Irish Times by the art critic Aidan Dunne.
In 2021, IÂ received an Arts Council England DYCP award to explore a new direction for my practice – VR. Â Â
